From NCAA Top 10 to Tossed Aside...
In April 2025, Grand Canyon University abruptly eliminated its NCAA Top 10 men’s volleyball program.
The decision blindsided athletes, left recruits scrambling, and was handled with zero transparency or care. Despite years of national success, the program was never fully supported — or treated equally.
With GCU out, Arizona no longer has a Division I men’s volleyball program. Yet the sport is booming — and the elite talent our boys’ clubs consistently produce here are forced to leave the state. Younger players have no one to look up to.
What began as a fight to save one team has grown into something bigger. This isn’t about restoring what was lost — it’s about building what should’ve existed all along.
Now, we’re preparing to launch a campaign to bring NCAA D1 Men’s Volleyball to Arizona State University—where the value of the sport is recognized and the vision has always been a dream. With the right backing, ASU can lead the nation in building a legacy of equity, excellence, and opportunity for the next generation of athletes. #SaveAZMVB
